Reunion 2023 Highlights

Punti salienti della riunione 2023

Welcome to the Vecchio Family Website

Upon my retirement a few years ago I found myself with a lot of spare time. After hearing of the passing of the wife of a second cousin and attending her Mass, I found myself at the repast, in the midst of many people I did not know yet who were related to me! I was really touched when individuals told me I looked like their uncle!! And I could say the same thing about various individuals in the room, too!

I hope you find lost relatives as interesting as I do and that you enjoy this ongoing family tree project!

You will also find a page here about Postiglione, Italy. I am listing as much info as I can find about our family homestead.

Please feel free to send me any pictures you would like to see in this website. I can use any help I can get. Thanks!

Carl Botti, son of Marian, daughter of Antonio

Grazie! Carlo Botti, figlio di Marian, figlia di Antonio

Postiglione Origins

The origins of the name "Postiglione" are uncertain. We only know that it was a refuge for coastal inhabitants of Paestum during the centuries of Arab incursions along the coast, beginning as early as the 9th century. The town center is medieval, having developed around the Norman castle built in the 11th century.
